The mini quilt for the Spring Blooms Quilt Swap 2009 is finished. I can't believe it. And I learned so much from it. I hope that Rebecca Vollman of Australia enjoys it.
November was quite the busy month. It started off with a trip to Houston to the International Quilt Festival!!! Woot, woot!!! Marsha, Sandra, and I had a FANTASTIC time! I learned to bring all my papers with me after having to trek back to the hotel but Hey! Live and learn! I even won the FASCINATOR contest! I won a Sizzex machine and other lovely things. It was a blast! There were sooooo many vendors and so much to see and do. We did take some time to go thru the different quilt exhibits also. The amazing talent that is in this world is unbelievable. Paint quilts, Photo, Traditional, ...you name it, they are making it in QUILTS! The only limit is your imagination Here are a few of the quilts we saw: I loved this series. The detail was amazing. Note the fishnet stockings! I just loved this. This is Marsha enjoying herself. This quilt was fabulous! I was nuts over this CRAZY quilt! It was from Australia and the detail and colors are f
I had a wonderful time visiting Margaret and Jon. I just wanted to show some of what I was able to find there. 2 magazines, fabric, and a new ruler! Fun fun fun Of course, I had some help picking out some of the fabric (cupcakes, dinosaurs) but it just goes to show, she does have taste! haha I loved the St. Patrick's day fabric and it was 60% off!! and was already marked down to 5.99 a yard. So I got a whole yard! The Easter fabric was just cute and so I had to get it.
Jimmy and I are in Honolulu for the USM football game. It seems like a dream. I did get some sewing done on the plane tho. I am doing some hexagon English paper piecing and, once I got the hang of it, it's going pretty well. I was able to iron the pieces on in the hotel room while Jimy went running so the rest should be easier to do. I will post pictures later as my iPad is an iPad and not an iPad 2 (no camera). Honolulu is very commericialized. It's not what we expected. I hope we get to do a tour today. The Arizona is booked out so that's out but I hope the Dole Pineapple Plantation is a go.. Or an ecotour would be great! I hope to get to some quilting or fabric places too. I have scoped some out. Keeping my fingers crossed!!
Yes Rebecca loves it. She tried to send you a email hope you got it. Sorry it has taken me some time to find your blog
